Saul Axler, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired gaming floorman.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; one daughter, Cindy Grisnik of Las Vegas; one sister, Anita Sherman of Montreal; three brothers, Harold Axler of Montreal and Alex Axler and Lou Axler, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Cathryn Benton

Cathryn Benton, 74, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Alexandria, La. A resident for three years, she was a retired bookkeeper for a pharmacy and a volunteer at Valley Hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Ginger Consigney of Henderson; two brothers, C.A. Williams and Larry Williams, both of Lake Charles, La.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ella M. Bruzzese

Ella M. Bruzzese, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 10, 1921, in New Kensington, Pa. A resident for 44 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Tona Saigh of Palatine, Ill.; one son, Joe Bruzzese of Henderson; one sister, Elizabeth Mariani of Braddock, Pa.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Norma J. Cavett

Norma J. Cavett, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Seattle. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Auxiliary Branch of International Order of the Blue Gavel Humanitarian Foundation.

She is survived by her husband, Cav; one daughter, Rhonda Disney of San Francisco; one brother, Ed Naff of Shelton, Wash.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Richard Ciletti

Richard Ciletti, 57, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Philadelphia. A resident for seven years, he was a retired electronics technician, an Air Force veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 7708, 4th Degree Van Skee Assembly.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Richard Nicolai and Richard Ciletti, both of Alaska; five daughters, Jackie Ciletti and Cheri Ciletti, both of New Jersey, and Lexus Leena Quirante, Kit Quirante and Wendy Quirante, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. services Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Christina G. Demopoulou

Christina G. Demopoulou, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1909, in Greece. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Chris, Dean and Tommy, and two daughters, Pat and Dena, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Chris, and one sister, Margarita, both of Vlaherna, Greece; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be in Vlaherna.

Merna Gerard

Merna Gerard, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born July 1, 1914, in Port Chester, N.Y. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired corporate secretary.

She is survived by one son, Peter Gerard of New York; and one grandchild.

Eleanor 'Ellie' Herr

Eleanor 'Ellie' Herr, 60, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 15, 1938, in Zearing, Iowa. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired first-grade schoolteacher from Andrew J. Mitchell Elementary, a member of American Association of University Women, PEO Sisterhood, Phi Beta Kappa, University of Colorado Alumni Association and Sweet Adelines.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald D.; three sons, Kent R. Herr of Meridian, Idaho, Robert C. Herr of Boulder City and Jason C. Herr of Morrison, Ill.; two brothers, Lynn W. Eley of Bisbee, Ariz., and R. Wendell Eley of Zearing; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be private. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Christian Center, 571 Adams Blvd., Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Rollin Jessie

Rollin Jessie, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Burksville, Ky. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired mechanic, a World War II Army veteran who was a former prisoner of war in Japan and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Elva; one sister, Annie Pierson, and one brother, Thomas Jessie, both of Indiana.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lawrence E. Johns

Lawrence E. Johns, 47, of Las Vegas died March 8 in Las Vegas. He was born May 21, 1951, in Detroit. A resident for seven years, he was a musician, founder of Millennium Starr sci-fi rock group and owner of Millennium Starr Recording Studio.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Abercrombie-Johns; one son, Jesse James Johns of Reseda, Calif.; and two brothers, Don Johns of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Jimmy Hale of Detroit.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Religious Science, 5317 Smoke Ranch Road. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Catherine Montanari Lincoln

Catherine Montanari Lincoln, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 7, 1915, in Newark, N.J. A resident for four years, she was a retired businesswoman and a former resident of Royal Ridge Mobile Home Estates of Nevada.

She is survived by her husband, Weldon A.; one daughter, Barbara Johnson of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; two sons, Alfred Montanari and Ronald Montanari, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Margaret M. Moulaison

Margaret M. Moulaison, 95, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 13 years, she was born April 20, 1903, in Nova Scotia.

She is survived by four daughters, Marjorie Smith and Martha Collupy, both of Las Vegas and Marlene Mahan and Beatrice Matton, both of Cape Cod, Mass.; one son, Russell Moulaison of Cape Cod; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Massachusetts.

Roberto Olivas Sr.

Roberto Olivas Sr., 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Mexico. A resident for 25 years, he was a Las Vegas Hilton porter for 19 years.

He is survived by his wie, Maria Delpilar Olivas; one son, Roberto M. Olivas Jr., and two daughters, Eva Morales and Graciela Vences, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Imelda Villalobos, Eleuteria Palma and Alfonso Olivas, and two half-sisters, Esperanza Ruiz and Guadalupe Ruiz, all of Mexico; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St. Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Margaret Jean Olson

Margaret Jean Olson, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 8, 1916, in Bertha, Minn. A resident for 53 years, she was a co-owner of a women's wear shop.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew C.; three sons, Richard D. Olson of Katy, Texas, Charles R. Olson of Tokyo and William D. Olson of Las Vegas; one daughter, Janet J. Humphress of San Jose, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. A private burial will follow.

Jessie Sattwhite Jr.

Jessie Sattwhite Jr., 50, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1948, in Ardmore, Okla. A resident for three years, he was a food entrepreneur.

He is survived by his companion, Jackie Glasper-Sattwhite, and three sons, Marzee Sattwhite, Jon Sattwhite and Jessie Sattwhite, all of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Robert Adair of Los Angeles and Joe Adair of Elizabeth, N.J.; five sisters, Martha Ann Crump and Madie Torry, both of St. Louis, Ruby Young of Sacramento and Patricia Smith and Silvia Lewis, both of Ardmore; and one grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2450 Revere St., North Las Vegas.

Jesse Dean Schamanek

Jesse Dean Schamanek, 25, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 27, 1973, in Corvallis, Ore. A resident for 23 years, he was a hotel bartender and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his father, Don Schamanek, and his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Carl Paris, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Don Schamanek Jr. of Medford, Ore., and Dennis Schamanek, Sky Schamanek and Shaun Schamanek, all of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Kelli Baker of Medford and Lea Schamanek and Angela Schamanek, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Clara Shapiro

Clara Shapiro, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 25, 1914, in New York City. A resident for 28 years, she was a member of the Steppin' Seniors.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Bravo, and one sister, Anne Wayne, both of Las Vegas.

Harold Thomas

Harold Thomas, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Danville, Ill. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired senior power dispatcher and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline Thomas of San Diego; two brothers, Don Thomas of San Diego and Mike Thomas of Florida; and one grandchild.

George Yalich

George Yalich, 80, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born March 15, 1918, in Minnesota. A resident for 36 years, he was a plumber and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, George Yalich and Joe Yalich, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Milo Yalich of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Sophia Yalich and Sylvia Gilovich, both of Las Vegas, and Mildred Zakula of Wisconsin.

Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
