IGT merger partner out of casino project

Company officials informed the head of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board of their intention on Monday.
"We want this Shreveport project, and Hollywood can do it on its own," said Jim Wise, the company's corporate marketing director.
Last week, Hollywood lost its financial partner, Sodak Gaming, after International Game Technology, announced plans to acquire Sodak. IGT, which makes gambling machines, does not want to operate casinos.
Hollywood had planned to break ground on the project in July. Now, it will have to present evidence of the project's viability to the state Gambling Board.
"Everything is moving according to schedule," said Gambling Board Chair Hillary Crain. "I see nothing right now that would make me believe there will be a delay."
Hollywood plans a 400-room hotel to go along with its riverboat casino, which would be the fifth in the Shreveport-Bossier City area.
