Police say the woman was reported missing in February. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of relatives.
Rescuers said they could not estimate how long the 35-year-old woman had been in the car.
The Nevada Highway Patrol estimated the car left the roadway at a high rate of speed.
The wreckage was found just below the start of Desert View Trail, at about 8,300 feet above sea level.
