Canadian gamblers, problem gamblers up

That's according to the University of Windsor's Problem Gambling Research Group, which released a study last week.
The Detroit Free Press reported the percentage of problem gamblers increased in Windsor, from about 2.3 percent or 4,600 adults in 1994 before casinos opened to about 3 percent or 6,000 people now.
The study did not include Americans, though some 80 percent of the Windsor casino customers are Americans. Ron Frisch, director of the University of Windsor's Problem Gambling Research Group, said he expects the same pattern of increases would hold true on the U.S. side of the border, the Free Press reported.
