Dallas-based Heftel Broadcasting Corp., the largest Spanish language broadcaster in the nation, has bought a second Las Vegas radio station.
KISF 103.5-FM was bought by Heftel for $20.3 million. When the deal closes within two months, the 100,000-watt FM station will adopt the format of KLSQ 870-AM, Heftel's current Spanish-language station. KLSQ, a 10,000-watt station, will take on a new format, also in Spanish.
Jose Valle, general manager of Heftel Las Vegas, said KLSQ's programming has been extremely popular and putting it on the FM band should develop a larger audience.
KISF currently operates a rhythm-and-blues and classic soul music format.
