Unlicensed dentist shut down
Tuesday, March 9, 1999 | 10:32 a.m.
Clara C. Carrillo signed a stipulation in a civil suit filed by the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners admitting to practicing dentistry without a license and agreeing to pay a $1,200 fine to settle the case.
The board sued Carrillo in state District Court, alleging Carrillo was falsely representing herself as a dentist, and had placed her name on a license issued to another dentist.
Carrillo admitted "she engaged in the illegal practice of dental hygiene in the State of Nevada ... from October 20, 1998 until February 8, 1999."
Carrillo also agreed to pay a $1,200 fine, and the costs and legal fees incurred by the board in its investigation. She gave up any right to ever apply to the board for licensure, and the board agreed not to pursue criminal charges against Carrillo.
The suit was filed against Clara C. Coss, also known as Klara C. Carrillo, but the stipulation was signed by Clara C. Carrillo.
