Letter: Nonsmoker stands up for his rights in hazy casinos

In one letter to the editor, Victoria Shaw, no doubt a friend of Hank Zemeckis, castigated me due to my letter suggesting Hank, a smoker, was rude and arrogant to tell a young husband and wife to stay out of casinos if they did not like cigarette smoke.

Victoria says I am rude and disgusting and I should move far, far away. She goes on to say if a smoker sits next to her she will move. Why?

Victoria, nonsmokers have a right to play anywhere in a casino. All casinos do not have nonsmoking sections, and even if they do the games are not necessarily the same.

Don't you stand up for your rights, Victoria? Further, Victoria doesn't understand what she reads, as I did not mention a wife, and my letter was merely an analogy to a situation.

To top it all off, over and above the health connection, too many smokers are slobs!

How often do you see pieces of cigarette butts in parking lots or supermarkets and malls, because they are too lazy to dump them in a container, or at home.

Finally Victoria, smokers have caused some of the most disastrous fatal fires in hotels, clubs, etc. So I stand on what I said.
