Letter: Postal Service has desecrated U.S. flag for years
Tuesday, June 29, 1999 | 10:19 a.m.
Passing a constitutional amendment against desecrating the American flag is utterly insane. It's like opening Pandora's box.
The U.S. Postal Service has been canceling and thereby obliterating the Stars and Stripes ever since the 1-cent stamp took our message across the good ole U.S.A. That was before the days of the Weimar Republic!
It's a good thing this stupidity has to be passed by all states. Aren't we lucky the Nevada Legislature is out to pasture for the next 18 months?
