Robert Lewis White was booked Friday into the Washoe County Jail on a murder charge stemming from the death of Vera Ruth Warmbrod, 68, of Reno.
A joint investigation was launched by Washoe County sheriff's deputies and Reno police after she was reported missing.
The victim's unclothed body was found June 16 at the east end of Indian Head by a group of campers.
Washoe County sheriff's deputies said the two were roommates, but they refused to disclose how she was murdered.
