The UNLV women's basketball program has signed another player, head coach Regina Miller announced Thursday. The new addition to the Lady Rebel program is Talisha Mitchell.
Mitchell, a 5-8 point/two guard from Edison High School in Stockton, Calif., averaged 22.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 2.3 assists per game during her senior season.
She was named The (Stockton) Record's female basketball player of the year after scoring an area-high 686 points and led the San Joaquin Athletic Association in scoring with 366 points. She also had 288 rebounds overall and 147 in SJAA play.
Mitchel joins Carlesa Dixon, Dayna Gambill, Constance Jinks, Myeisha Jones, Jessica McEwen, Marenna Nyffeler and Tiana Sanders as new Lady Rebels in the fall.
