UNLV names six new officers for fund-raising

The UNLV Foundation has assigned six new development officers, three of whom are filling new positions created to raise money for the College of Fine Arts, the College of Health Sciences and the Greenspun Colleges of Urban Affairs and UNLV Libraries.

As the private fund-raising arm of the college, the foundation raises money for student scholarships, faculty development, facilities and special projects.

As the new director of annual giving for UNLV, Brenda O'Boyle Haynes is in charge of raising funds for the giving clubs. Prior to her arrival at UNLV Haynes served as the director of development at York College in Pennsylvania. She received her bachelor's degree and attended graduate school at Bucknell University, where she also served as the director of development communications.

Eva Esteban is the new manager of UNLV's Academic Corporate Council and President's Associates programs. Prior to her arrival at UNLV Esteban worked in sales, customer service and corporate training with Xerox and Motorola. She received her bachelor's degree from San Diego State University and her master's degree from Syracuse University.

Cynthia Baca is the new director of development for the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs and UNLV libraries. Prior to her arrival at UNLV Baca served as director of development and marketing for the Nonprofit Resource Center and Southwest Craft Center in San Antonio. She also was director of art in public places for the office of cultural affairs in Albuquerque, N.M.

Jack Jenks is the new director of development for the College of Sciences and Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at UNLV. Jenks previously served as director of development for the UNLV William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. His experience in professional fund-raising includes positions as director of major gifts for the USC College of Medicine and associate director of major gifts for the LDS Foundation. Jenks received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Utah.

Wendy Lane was promoted to director of development for the College of Fine Arts from a position as development officer for UNLV intercollegiate athletics. Prior to working for UNLV Lane served as assistant director of alumni and development programs at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She received her master's degree from Drake University and her bachelor of arts degree from Arizona State University.

Lara Kolberg was promoted to director of development for the College of Health Sciences from her position as the director of the UNLV Annual Fund. Prior to her arrival at UNLV Kolberg served as director of development for the Desert Southwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Kolberg received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Minnesota.
