Henderson planners approve subdivisions

Friday, June 25, 1999 | 11:06 a.m.

The Henderson Planning Commission Thursday approved plans for two residential subdivisions and one commercial subdivision Thursday.

The meeting was also the final meeting for one of the planning commissioners, Russell Wheeler, who decided to step down from the panel. The City Council has yet to name a replacement for Wheeler, who had served on the commission since 1997.

The commission voted unanimously to approve phase III of the Palm Hills residential subdivision, which will consist of 403 lots on approximately 106 acres. The project would be located on the northwest corner of Mission Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway in the Paradise Hills area.

The three phases of the Palm Hills development will include a total of 617 lots and is expected to take one to two years to complete, according to Larry Bitton of PBS&J, which represented the developer, U.S. Home Corporation, at the meeting.

Also approved at Thursday's meeting were plans for a residential subdivision consisting of 10 lots on approximately 8 acres on Lake Las Vegas Parkway north of MonteLago Boulevard.

The planning commission also approved a commercial subdivision consisting of one lot on approximately 5 acres on the southwest corner of Eastern Avenue and Pecos Road in the Westgate area. The property would consist of medical offices including radiology laboratories.

The commission's rulings will be considered final unless appealed.
