The Las Vegas Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives will host a talk on "Special Events Over $100,000 -- How to Make Them Happen" 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at the Las Vegas Country Club, 3000 Joe W. Brown Drive.
The luncheon is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Call 450-1000, Ext. 222.

Clark County libraries are holding a variety of special programs. Call ahead to find out which programs require pre-registration. Among them is a talk on the Neighborhood Watch program, 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sahara West Library Multipurpose Room, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

Health district sets free testing Monday
The Clark County Health District is offering free HIV testing 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the main clinic, 625 Shadow Lane, Annex A.
Besides testing, individuals will receive counseling and information on ways to avoid infection and infecting other people.

Baseball players to help fund-raiser
The Las Vegas Stars baseball team and Candlelighters For Childhood Cancer are sponsoring the Tip a Star luncheon 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the Outback Steak house, 4141 S. Pecos Road.
Cost is $25. Members of the team will act as waiters at the fund-raiser. For reservations call 386-7200.
Baseball fan can win Chicago trip
The Las Vegas Stars will hold a fund-raiser for Aid Association for Lutherans and the Lutheran Social Services of Nevada Friday at Cashman Field as the Stars play host to the Iowa Cubs, the AAA affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
One fan will win a trip giveaway package to Chicago. Admission is $4, with tickets available from AAL representatives at Las Vegas' Lutheran churches. Call798-7825.
