UNLV players on GTE team

UNLV junior golfer Jeremy Anderson and senior tennis player Asaf Tishler have both been named to the 1998-99 GTE Academic All-America at-large team, which was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Anderson, who was a third-team selection last year, was named to this year's second team.
Tishler was named to the third team. There were 15 student-athletes selected to each of the three teams.
Anderson, from Lake Mary, Fla., carries a 3.54 grade point average and is majoring in business management. He was named this year's WAC Golfer of the Year, was a first-team All-American and led his squad to a final ranking of second in the nation.
Tishler, from Tel Aviv, Israel, has a 3.61 GPA and is majoring in hotel management. He was selected first-team All-WAC this year and earned a berth to the NCAA Singles Championships for the second straight year.
