Letter: Ticketless fans fighting mad
Friday, June 18, 1999 | 12:25 p.m.
Regarding Ron Kantowski's column on the public being shut out from buying De La Hoya-Trinidad fight tickets:
I'm having a real problem with the way Mandalay Bay is selling those tickets. In fact, I called last night. Not only did they say the price was $3,000, but that it was sold out.
I have been coming to Las Vegas for fights since Leonard-Hearns II, The War. So, I have not missed too many. I saw all of the Bowe-Holyfields and so on. I'm not a high roller but I do have a good job, and I feel my money is just as good as the rest.
What's going to happen when Lewis-Holyfield II comes up? Will they ticket hoard again?
