Letter: Minor sports, major city
Friday, June 18, 1999 | 12:28 p.m.
I agree with Steve Carp's Thursday column 100 percent. Las Vegas has always been a difficult "minor league" town because it is a major league town. There is too much to do in Las Vegas without attending an obscure minor league event.
Like many before, these folks from the new leagues will try but find out what history has taught us: Build your own facility on or near the Strip and you have a chance.
