Las Vegas-based National Airlines will begin flying to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport beginning Aug. 25.
It's the sixth destination for the carrier that began operations in late May.
National will have two non-stop flights in each direction between Dallas and McCarran International Airport. Also on that date, the company adds a third round-trip flight between Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Meanwhile, one of National's competitors, Phoenix-based America West Airlines, plans to add to its frequency of operation to four destinations. America West adds a second daily flight to and from Atlanta, a second flight to and from Baltimore, a new flight to and from San Jose, Calif., and a third daily flight to and from Columbus, Ohio.
The new flights are the result of America West expanding its fleet with the acquisition of new Airbus A319 and A320 twin-engine jets.
The company also plans to restart seasonal service on America West Express between Las Vegas and Palm Springs, Calif., on twin-engine deHavilland Dash 8 turboprop planes.
The Columbus flights begin Aug. 1 and the others begin Sept. 1.
