RENO -- Former Nevada Attorney General Brian McKay will retire from his position as senior vice president and general counsel at International Game Technology on Oct. 31.

McKay, 54, has been with IGT since January, 1994. Before that, he was Nevada's attorney general for eight years. His career also included a three-year stint as partner at the Lionel Sawyer & Collins law firm in Reno.

He has served as chairman of the Conference of Western Attorneys General, and is currently a board member of the Gaming Entertainment Research and Education Foundation, chairman of the Commission on Nuclear Projects for Nevada, a board member of the International Association of Gaming Attorneys and a management trustee of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union Health and Welfare Fund.

"I am sorry to see Brian end his career at IGT," said Tom Baker, president and chief operating officer. "He has made substantial contributions to this company, but I am happy that he will now be able to enjoy a well-deserved rest."

McKay will help IGT find a successor, said Baker.

IGT makes gaming machines and systems.
