Big O Tires, which opened a $7.8 million, 300,000-square-foot distribution center in early 1995, is closing the Henderson operation in October.
The company is changing its strategy of consolidating tire and automotive parts distribution by relocating to four sites closer to Big O retail stores. The company will open smaller facilities in Denver, Phoenix, Sacramento and Ontario, Calif.
The company will move 50 jobs to other Big O locations.
The distribution center services 230 retail stores in nine Western states.
The building has 6,000 square feet of office space, room to store 400,000 tires, rail service, freeway frontage on U.S. 95, 30 dock high doors and 30-foot clear interior warehouse space.
