StumbleBrothels to pay higher business license fees

Storey County commissioners on Tuesday approved the fee hike to be implemented in two phases.
Under the approved ordinance, brothels will pay $13,750 in quarterly business license fees, an increase of $5,000, beginning next month. A second $5,000 increase will take effect Jan. 1, 2002.
Brothel fees and taxes are a main source of revenue for the small, rural county east of Reno.
