Boulder City Council approves agreement with Teamsters

Wednesday, June 16, 1999 | 12:06 p.m.

The Boulder City Council Tuesday unanimously approved an agreement giving supervisory employees in Teamsters Local 14 a 4 percent annual cost-of-living raise, for a total of a 20 percent increase for the span of the five-year contract.

Similar contracts with the bargaining units for blue collar and clerical employees were ratified by union members Tuesday and should be up for council approval in July, City Manager John Sullard said.

"Four percent is standard in the valley," he said. "I think the negotiated settlement is fair."

The supervisors also will receive a $40 raise over the next five years in insurance coverage. "There is a $500 cap on insurance," Sullard said. The only city employee union contract that remains to be negotiated is with the firefighters, Sullard said.
