Metro Police are asking for help identifying a suspect in the armed robbery of a grocery store early Saturday morning.
The man, in his early to mid-20s, walked into the Lucky store at 2300 E. Tropicana Ave., pulled a weapon on the employees and forced them into the store's office, Detective Gordon Martines said.
After removing an undetermined amount of money from the safe, the suspect tied up the employees with duct tape and fled, Martines said.
The suspect is described as a white male with black hair and light-colored eyes, weighing 170 pounds. His height is between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet, Martines said.
Police have a sketch of the wanted man and are encouraging anyone who recognizes him to contact Secret Witness at 385-5555 or Martines at 229-3591.
Police identify homicide victim
A man killed in a shootout Wednesday night in the 2600 block of Caselton Street has been identified as Myron Amie, 22, of Las Vegas.
Amie and two other men were shot in the incident near U.S. 95 and Eastern Avenue. An unnamed 24-year-old man was taken to University Medical Center, where today he is listed in serious condition. The third man, Dion Wiley, 24, was discovered with a gunshot wound in the leg after police conducted a search of the area, a Metro Police spokesman said.

One man stable after surgery
Henderson Police arrested one man and are looking for a second suspect wanted in the stabbing of two men at 198 N. Pecos Road Thursday, Lt. Jutta Chambers said.
Ramses Escobar, 19, was and charged with attempted murder after Joseph Finater, 19, and Rami Asmar, 18, were stabbed with a razor blade, Chambers said.
The victims were taken to University Medical Center where Finater is listed in stable condition after undergoing surgery. Asmar received stitches and was released, Chambers said.

Man discovered in desert ravine
Metro homicide detectives are investigating a body found in a desert area near Lake Mead on State Route 147 Thursday morning.
A citizen found the body about 150 yards off the road in a ravine at about 11 a.m., police said.
Police believe the victim, a white man thought to be in his late 30s, hadn't been there longer than 24 hours.
The victim had dark hair and a mustache and was wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt and light blue jeans. Anyone with information about the victim is urged to call the homicide section at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
eTwo schools get help from artists
Two art works commissioned by the Las Vegas Arts Commission were recently completed by two artists in residence.
Muralist Markus Tracy worked with the art classes at Sunrise Acres Elementary School to design and paint a mural as part of the school's 50th anniversary celebration. Images reflecting the school's curriculum were incorporated into the mural that wraps around the school's entrance.
Students at Derfelt Elementary School also participated in the creation of a mural that has been installed in the main lobby. Garry Fox, owner of Fox Tile Studio, guided the students through the process of creating images on ceramic tiles.
Metro meets L.A. cops in hockey
Metro Police officers will lace up their skates and hit the ice for charity on Saturday.
Metro's ice hockey team will face off against the Los Angeles Police Department in a charity hockey game at the Sante Fe hotel-casino ice rink at 6:15 p.m.
Tickets for the game are $3 for adults and $2 for children with all proceeds going to Opportunity Village.
Benefit dinner set at art museum
Local business owners are invited to attend a black-tie dinner to benefit both displaced low-income families and the Shade Tree shelter for battered women and their children.
The dinner will be from 6 to 9 p.m. June 19 at the Las Vegas Art Museum at 9600 W. Sahara Ave.
Guest speakers will be Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., Kenneth LoBene, the Department of Housing and Urban Development state coordinator in Las Vegas, and Cassaundra Williams, who helps find housing for low-income residents as president of WET National Relocation Services.
The cost is $100 per person and corporate sponsorships are also available. Checks should be made payable to West Las Vegas Pride. For more information call 393-9217.
Press conference planned on Sunday
The Professional Black Women's Alliance will hold a press conference for the 14 annual Rose Awards at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
