Condo builder sued

The homeowners' association of a Las Vegas condominium development sued its developer over construction defects, the third such lawsuit to be filed in Clark County in recent days.

The homeowners' association of La Posada, 9472 Canalino Drive, sued Plaster Development Co. and Monogram Inc. Plaster Development is the parent company of Monogram.

The association alleges the condominiums contain widespread defects. Complaints include cracking in stucco walls, damage from frequent "water intrusion," electrical outages, plumbing leaks, cracked drywall, poor drainage and loss of structural stability. It claims the defects are "pervasive throughout the community," based on engineers' reports.

Richard Plaster, owner and president of Plaster Development, acknowledged some defects, but said they were minor, and did not render any of the units uninhabitable. He added that his company made a settlement offer, but was rejected.
