William A. Aho, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 5, 1915, in Duluth, Minn. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired ceramic tile setter for many of the local larger casinos and the Air Force Academy, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Bricklayers Union for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Thelma H.; one daughter, Kim Hudrlik of Logandale; one son, Curtis Aho of Virginia Beach, Va.; five sisters, Betty Whittier Holm and Julia Beckman, both of Cromwell, Minn., and Ellen Resso, Esther McGuire and Dorothy Tiili, all of Duluth; two brothers, Leonard Aho of Wright, Minn., and Arthur Aho of Tamarack, Minn.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Charles Donald Burden
Charles Donald Burden, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 5, 1920, in Oklahoma. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired from the Marine Corps.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Thomas Burden, Richard Dean Burden and Dale Anthony Burden; three daughters, Sandra Lee Claffey, Donna Lynn Cain and Linda Levette Burden; one brother, Jimmey Burden; one sister, Della Mae; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. services Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Clinton John Christensen
Clinton John Christensen, 22, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 4, 1976, in Price, Utah. A resident for four years, he was a hotel security guard.
He is survived by his wife, Christy; one son, Quest Christensen, one daughter, Tasia Christensen, his mother, Junette Christensen, and his stepfather, James Boyden, all of Las Vegas; his father, Dirk Davies, and one brother, Anthony Davies, both of Ohio; one stepbrother, Taje Boyden of Salt Lake City; one stepsister, Amber Boyden of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Mary Christensen of Price, Utah, and Ted and Janis Davies of Millercreek, Utah.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in the Hollywood and Kell LDS Chapel. Burial will be in Cleveland. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Theodore Eloy
Theodore Eloy, 77, of Las Vegas died May 8 in a local hospital. He was born July 3, 1921, in California. A longtime resident, he was disabled.
Graveside services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
John J. Fusch
John J. Fusch, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1929, in New York City. A resident for 39 years, he was a former owner of Nevada Blind and Floor and Burgess Carpet.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Las Vegas; two sons, Eric Fusch of Salt Lake City and Chris Fusch of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mary Ellen Fusch-Sanchez and Johnnijo Fusch, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Josephine Rubino of Queens, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
A rosary will be 6 p.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. A private burial will follow.
The family suggests donations to Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive.
Ernesto C. Goc-Ong
Ernesto C. Goc-Ong, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born May 18, 1922, in Hawaii. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Air Force base maintenance worker and a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Melecia; two daughters, Carmen Yamagata and Tita Caballes, both of Las Vegas; seven sons, Romeo Goc-Ong of Arkansas and Jose Goc-Ong, William Goc-Ong, Eusebio Goc-Ong, Landilino Goc-Ong, Elmer Goc-Ong and Menardo Goc-Ong, all of Las Vegas; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today and noon until 8 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Palm Chapel, Main.
Leonard Daurell Harvey
Leonard Daurell Harvey, 35, of Las Vegas died May 26 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 2, 1963, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a cook.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey Harvey; three daughters, Emma and Angel, both of California, and Tarqeana of Las Vegas; one son, Marquet of Las Vegas; his mother, Eliza Harvey of Las Vegas; three brothers, Milton of Oakland, Calif., Samuel of Austin, Texas, and Donald of Las Vegas; and five sisters, Gieneviere Thrower, Kathy, Claudette, Barbara and Mamie Lee, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Friday in Holy Ghost Temple, 2624 Clayton Drive. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Helen L. 'Micky' Hatfield
Helen L. "Micky" Hatfield, 97, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 3, 1902, in Stockett, Mont. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Maureen McClung of Boise, Idaho; one son, Dennis J. Cullen of Henderson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Jack Raymond Hoff
Jack Raymond Hoff, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born March 22, 1930, in Trenton, N.J. A resident for 36 years, he owned and operated a lawn maintenance company and was an Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Polk of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Marianne Holt
Marianne Holt, 60, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 13, 1939, in Downey, Calif. A resident for 10 years, she was a secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Lori McCulla of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Lisa Docus of Downey; her mother, Grace Dair of Downey; two stepdaughters, Lauri Yates of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Kim Burton of Brea, Calif.; one stepson, Gary Holt of La Mirada, Calif.; one sister, Phyllis Reed of Belvedere Gardens, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Mary Ann Huner Mary Ann Huner, 60, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 18, 1938, in Colorado. A resident for eight months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, James R.; one son, Daniel Burden of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mary Jane Schwank and Diane Wetzbarger, both of Colorado; two brothers, Frank Boehler of California and William Boehler of Colorado; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. services Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Vincent Klein Vincent Klein, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 10, 1915, in Pottsville, Penn. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired insurance underwriter and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Rash of Las Vegas; three sisters, Jean Sherry of Harrisburg, Pa., Betty Kane of Schuylkill Haven, Pa., and Marian of Pottsville; one brother, George Klein of Pottsville; and one great-grandchild.

Esther Laskow
Esther Laskow, 93, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 13, 1905, in Grafton, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired seamstress.
She is survived by one daughter, Olga Laskow, and one son, Dan Lasko, both of Las Vegas; six sisters, Helen Russ of Las Vegas, Rose Madruga of Port Isabelle, Texas, and Julie, Ann Dymterko, Olga Burke and Mary Sarnachi, all of New York City; and one brother, Walt Palubniak of New York City.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
James Allen Long
James Allen Long, 42, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born March 29, 1957, in Burbank, Calif. A resident for 41 years, he was a mason in the construction industry.
He is survived by his companion, Nicole Forget, and his mother, Ginger Long, both Las Vegas; and four sisters, Juanita Lewis of Rolla, Kan., Sherri Jelf of Salt Lake City, Debbie Tucker of Shattuck, Okla., and Sharlene Long of Ocean Spring, Miss.
American Cremation and Burial Services, 310 Foremaster Lane is handling arrangements.
Charles McElroy Sr.
Charles McElroy Sr., 67, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1932, in Pelahatchie, Miss. A resident for one year, he was a retired bank elevator operator.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie; one son, Charles McElroy Jr. of Las Vegas; three sisters, Monta Jones and Mary Johnson, both of North Las Vegas, and Thelma Hughes of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Zion United Methodist Church, 2108 N. Revere St., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ralph D. Prock
Ralph D. Prock, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 26, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for four years, he retired as an engineer from Bendix Corp. after 25 years and was a World War II Merchant Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Flora M.; one daughter, Susan C. Halldran of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Private services are being arranged by Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Robert L. Schmitt
Robert L. Schmitt, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 20, 1929, in St. Cloud, Minn. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired railroad sheet metal worker, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in St. Cloud.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A.; four sons, James Schmitt of Colorado Springs, Colo., Charles Schmitt of Las Vegas, David Schmitt of Kansas City, Mo., and Thomas Joseph of Silver Spring, Md.; five daughters, Cathy Fread of Sauk Rapids, Minn., Julie Salentine of Chanhassen, Minn., Jill Ghandour of Eden Prairie, Minn., Jennifer Joseph of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Jane Kozich of Lorain, Ohio; two brothers, Richard Schmitt of Waite Park, Minn., and Donald Schmitt of Las Vegas; one sister, Phyllis Berry of White Bear Lake, Minn.; and 14 grandchildren.

Peter A. Steele
Peter A. Steele, 39, of Las Vegas died Friday. He was born May 14, 1960, in Moab, Utah. A resident for 36 years, he was a maintenance man for the Department of Transportation and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; three sons, Jesse Steele of Florida and Michael Steele and Lucas Sandoval, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Brittney Steele and Hannah Sandoval, and one brother, Percy Steele, all of Las Vegas; and one sister, Jonie Mikulich of Lowell, Ore.
Services were scheduled at 12:30 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Daniel C. Tom
Daniel C. Tom, 51, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 26, 1947, in East Chicago, Ind. A resident for seven years, he was a state director of industry, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of Habitat for Humanity.
He is survived by his wife, Charleen; three sons, Ted Tom, Russell Tom and John Tom, all of Henderson; his father, Ted Tom of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Susan Tom of Chicago; and two brothers, Fred Tom of Highland, Ind., and Paul Tom of Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Cody Allan Trefren, 2 1/2 months, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1999, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his parents, Shanda and Ronald Trefren of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Betty Saunders of Las Vegas, and Tim and Barbara Hoke of Simi Valley, Calif.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nellis Air Force Base Chapel.
Santana Gabriel Varela
Santana Gabriel Varela, 2 1/2 months, died May 21 in a local hospital. He was born March 6, 1999, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his father, Santana Varela, and his mother, Monica Marquez, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Valerie Varela and Rachelle Varela, both of Greeley, Colo., and Lariah Varela of Denver; and his grandparents, Helen and Lucario Varela of Greeley and Gilbert R. Marquez of California.
Graveside services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Ernie Verzani
Ernie Verzani, 43, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a hotel food and beverage employee.
He is survived by his parents, Ray and Stella Verzani, and one sister, Ginina Verzani, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Raymond Verzani and Bruce Verzani, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; and his grandmother, Jenny Viviano of Pittsburgh.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Evelyn Genevieve Walker
Evelyn Genevieve Walker, 76, of Henderson died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Bond County, Ill. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired cafeteria worker for the school district.
She is survived by her husband, Chester L.; one daughter, Nancy M. Walker of Cave City, Ark.; one son, James W. Walker of Henderson; one brother, Hershel Austin of Troy, Mo.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
