Home defects alleged in suit
Thursday, June 3, 1999 | 11:50 a.m.
The homeowners association of a Las Vegas condominium complex sued its developer, saying the units suffer from pervasive defects.
The suit involves Raintree Village, a 128-unit complex built in 1992 by Falcon Construction Services, a subsidiary of Falcon Homes. The complex is at 7570 W. Flamingo Road.
The homeowners association says numerous problems plague the condos, including extensive leaks in roofs and windows, drainage problems, inadequate fireproofing and structural defects. The problems are "pervasive" throughout the community, the lawsuit stated.
Settlement negotiations between the homeowners association and Falcon, which began in 1997, ended last week without an agreement, said the plaintiff's attorney. The association wants Falcon to pay for repairs on the condos, as well as unspecified damages for "economic losses" caused by the defects.
The defendant could not be reached for comment.
