Lazzarotto gets top security post

Jack Lazzarotto, the director of the Clark County School District Police, has been elected president of the National Association of School Safety and Law Enforcement Officers.

The nonprofit association of school security and school police officers seeks ways to keep schools safe.

Lazzarotto will represent the group at conferences and workshops nationwide, including events held by the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. He will interact with school police officials around the country.

Lazzarotto's term ends July 2000.
