International Sports Wagering Inc. said it is strategically repositioning itself from being the provider of the in-casino SportXction play-by-play wagering game into a statewide sports wagering service.

The statewide service, approved for trial by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, will allow people to place the traditional range of sports wagers from personal computers in their homes or offices. It will be available to players who have registered for the service, and who have opened a sports wagering account.

As part of its re-positioning, ISWI announced that Sid Diamond, the company's general manager of Nevada operations, has resigned. Diamond's position will not be refilled due to the company's change of strategic direction, said ISWI in a release.

The company's Nevada office will be managed by William Butler, head of ISWI's computer and communications hub. The hub will now become the center of the company's activities in Nevada. Diamond's functions will be assumed by existing personnel or new hires, as appropriate, stated the ISWI release.
