1ST RACE:
Shady Link - Decent 3rd at higher level in last, won at this level and trip before that, draws good rail post here, Pedroza again for repeat try on Carava trainee. Zapateo - Stalked pace and second best in last, in the quinella 5 of a dozen starts at this distance with both career victories, Flores returns, needs a good trip from outer post. Value Play -- Hooten Harry
2ND RACE:
Indiahoma - Rank and steadied with even run in restricted grass stakes at Hollypark when in need of a race in last, 3 of 4 lifetime victories on turf with one on Del Mar sod, better post and placed here, Pincay returns, had race, beware. Blue Sky - Closed from inside trip, got lead and held close 3rd by a neck in last, 3-wide bid and close 4th in comeback before that, makes third start since return, Nakatani stays on Dollace trainee. Value Play -- Rate Cut
3RD RACE:
Purely Excessive - Dueled lead and just missed when 2nd by a head with improved effort on first time lasix in last, returns on state-bred conditions, Antley got to know Lukas trainee in last, ready to graduate. Wingless Flight - Recovered after awkward start to miss by a nose while debut 2nd in last, Del Mar work since, draws outer post here, Gomez returns, prompt start expected here, sitting on maiden breaker. Value Play -- Cut To Paris
4TH RACE:
Caller One - Promising youngster passed on Hollypark stakes to race through conditions, solid maiden breaker victory in last, solid runner up in debut before that, need only like the seaside track to win this, Pedroza back. Knoxville - Dueled lead from rail post and drew away to break maiden at first asking in last, pair of maintenance works since, draws better post now, should be in the hunt and in position if top pick falters, exotics must. Value Play -- Purely Cozzene
5TH RACE:
Emigre - Dueled lead and caught on the wire while game 2nd by a neck off 7-month layoff in last, in the quinella in both Del Mar starts with 1 of 4 lifetime victories, Flores returns on Mitchell trainee, bounce is only concern. A Touch of Grey - Checked from the rail and distant 3rd routing at Golden Gate in last, off slow and distant 4th in comeback before that, ships back south now, 1-for-1 at Del Mar, drops to lowest level tag of career, money run time. Value Play -- Double D J
6TH RACE:
Cameron Pass - 1st time starter by Mr. Greeley, began training at Churchill Down with a trio of bullet drills from 8, then pair of bullet moves at Anita before most recent pair of works at Del Mar, Flores/Baffert team, works say READY. Long Term Investor - No late bid from outside post after tracking early with decent debut 4th in last, bullet drill on 7/19 since raced, draws better post here, race experience, Black back, might be second best here. Value Play -- Infantry
7TH RACE:
Speed Calling - Called for a trio of speed victories from a half-dozen lifetime starts, working well for comeback, ships down from Northern CalifornIa for return to races, Bonde trainee adds blinkers and attracts Flores for this. Valadour - Game during crunch time when close runner-up in last, in the quinella 12 of 37 lifetime starts with a trio of victories, 4th in return, then 3rd two races back, second in last, first this time? Value Play -- Sun Bull
8TH RACE:
Colorado Song - 3-wide bid and came up empty when distant 5th in Grade II Hollywood Oaks in last, 3-wide bid and caught by Excellent Meeting when 2nd by a neck before that, may have bounce in last, 1-for-1 on lawn, good post and Pincay takes over. Lady At Peace - Stalked and gamely won restricted grass stakes on Hollypark lawn off 8-week layoff in last, in the quinella in 4 previous starts with another pair of wins, a factor throughout, Gomez again to help Lady repeat theft. Value Play -- Camargo
9TH RACE:
Bullfinch - Made late bid between foes sprinting on Hollypark lawn when 3rd off 10-month layoff in last, stretches back out and returns to main track now, Alvarado has been struggling, but, this one had tightener and should be ready to fire here. Bold Capital - Failed to win fourth-in-a-row when 3rd from the rail post at 7 1/2 panels at Hollypark in last, 2 of 14 career victories at Del Mar, draws rail for this two-turn outing, should be a factor all the way, Pedroza/Carava combo. Value Play -- Kravis
10TH RACE:
Doremifasolasido - Stalked early while 4-wide and outrun at a mile on the lawn in last, dueled lead and faded at same before that, drops to claimer and switches back to main for this, a diploma factor throughout, may make music to ears here. Cara Nonne - Outrun from outside post in last, bobbled at the start and rallied from inside post for runner-up at this level before that, drops back in for a tag here, stretches out and should be competitive in finale for cap and gown. Value Play -- King's Raemali
