StumbleLV team named Strikers

The Las Vegas Soccer Development Corporation announced that the name of the new professional soccer franchise expected to begin play in the 2000 or 2001 A-league season will be known as the Strikers. The name was chosen from more than 300 entries by LVSDC during the "Name the Team" contest. Ron Dictrow submitted the winning entry first and will receive lifetime season tickets to the Strikers' matches. Other suggested names were Boom, Riders, Dice, Explosion, High Rollers, Legends, Rat Pack and Surge.
