Letter: Atlanta fans weren’t at risk

I believe the reporters covering the race understood that and so they did not report it as an unusual occurrence, especially in the current environment of concern. There is no fence in that area because there are no seats. There is a fence further back to keep people out of the area ... and that worked.
It is not unusual to have no debris fence where there are no people.
