Anchor Gaming of Las Vegas said a Florida appeals court has upheld the award of an online lottery system and services contract to Anchor subsidiary Automated Wagering International.
Anchor initially won the contract in October 1996, but the award was contested three times by rival lottery-equipment supplier GTECH. The appeals court affirmed the Florida Department of Lottery's final administrative order issued last year awarding the contract to AWI.
"We are extremely pleased that this issue is now behind us and we look forward to implementing the contract and continuing our partnership with the Florida Lottery into the next century," Anchor President Mike Rumbolz said.
Anchor Gaming is a Las Vegas-based casino game developer and operates slot routes in Nevada and Montana, as well as two casinos in Colorado and a "racino" -- racetrack-casino -- in New Mexico. Its AWI, VLC and United Tote units supply hardware and software to lottery systems and pari-mutuel organizations.
