Profit, revenue up for health insurer

Revenue of $2.45 billion was up 2.4 percent.
"The second quarter was very strong, with 41 percent earnings per share growth compared to the same quarter in 1998, following on the heels of an exceptional first quarter," said CEO Alan Hoops.
The results, which beat estimates by 1 cent per share, caused PacifiCare stock to increase 9.8 percent to $68.13 Wednesday.
