Two sentenced for bank robberies

A man and a woman indicted in connection with more than one dozen bank robberies in Reno and Las Vegas have received prison sentences after pleading guilty.

According to court documents, Manuel Raymond Dominguez Jr., 39, was sentenced to five years and five months in prison by U.S. District Judge Howard McKibben after Dominguez admitted robbing six banks and credit unions in Reno and 11 in Las Vegas.

Dominguez could have received up to 6 1/2 years in prison, documents show.

McKibben also gave Tammy Lynn Marchand, 39, three years and one month in prison after she admitted to being involved in two of the Reno holdups, court documents show.

Marchand could have gotten as much as four years.

The judge ordered Dominguez to pay more than $67,000 in restitution and Marchand was told to pay more than $6,400 back, according to court documents.

McKibben made a recommendation to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons that Marchand be sent to an Arizona prison facility that has a drug and alcohol treatment facility.

He recommended that Dominguez get at least 500 hours of drug treatment in a Sheridan, Ore., prison.

In an unrelated case, McKibben sentenced Tad Alan Masarang, 34, to one year and nine months in prison after Masarang pleaded guilty to bank larceny.

He could have gotten up to two years and three months.

Masarang was ordered to pay more than $77,000 in restitution, court records show.
