Bernice Marie Beggs
Bernice Marie Beggs, 59, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Florence, Ore. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired licensed practical nurse and a 1974 valedictorian at the Reno School of Medicine.
She is survived by her companion, Frank Zwierzycki of Boulder City; three daughters, Debra Mundt, Debbie Kothe and Donna Bowmer, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Eloise Pratt of Vancouver, Wash.; her father, Monroe Pratt of White Hills, Ariz.; one son, Michael Upchurch of New York City; one sister, Edith Thompson of Vancouver, Wash.; one brother, Doug Pratt of San Leandro, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Boulder City Cemetery.
Twylah Boatwright
Twylah Boatwright, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born July 14, 1937, in Hickley, Ill. A resident for 15 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Garrison and Twylah Michaels, and one brother, Larry Olsen, all of Las Vegas; four sons, David Borchers, Randy Borchers and James Boatwright, all of Las Vegas and Mike Borchers of Germany; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were 1 p.m. today in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.
Dorothy D. Brown
Dorothy D. Brown, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Littlefield, Texas. A resident for 29 years, she was an executive secretary for Trade Show Electric.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur D.; five daughters, Linda Anderson, Delsey Smith and Jerri Schlivka, all of Las Vegas, Debra Trinchini of Westminster, Calif., and Pamela Fenchell of Glendale, Ariz.; one brother, Harvey Walker of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Edward W. Chance
Edward W. Chance, 52, of Las Vegas died Thursday. He was born Oct. 30, 1946, in California. A resident for four years, he was a professor of Educational Leadership at UNLV, a member of the executive board of National Rural Education Association, Phi Delta Kappa, American Association of School Administrators and National Council for Professors of Educational Administration.
He is survived by his wife, Patti L.; and one sister, Kathy Slawson of Crescent, Okla.
Visitation is private. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens.

Maxine K. Cornett
Maxine K. Cornett, 77, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. She was born March 16, 1922, in Stanton, Iowa. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired federal government supervisor and a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Does in Boulder City.
She is survived by her husband, Leo R.; one daughter, Sandra Howard, and one son, Benny Cornett, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be noon Wednesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Broomer Dabney Jr.
Broomer Dabney Jr., 66, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Milton, Fla. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Dabney of Las Vegas and Michael Dabney of the United States Navy; one daughter, Bridget Dabney of Las Vegas; and three cousins, Ervilene Weatherspoon, Jocelyn Weatherspoon and Janice Weatherspoon.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Rose G. DiMino
Rose G. DiMino, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 1, 1917, in Italy. A resident for 32 years, she was a retired hotel fry cook.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Hewitt and JoAnn Dawson, and one brother, Ralph Sparacino, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Blandina Arra Foster
Blandina Arra Foster, 89, of Boise, Idaho, died Saturday in a Boise hospital. She was born in Pottsville, Pa. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a retired resource teacher for the hearing impaired for the Clark County School District, past president of the Nevada Speech and Hearing Association, active in the Clark County Democratic Party, Rural Nevada NOW and Nevadans for Human Rights.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, Louise Ray Foster.
No local services are scheduled. Summers Funeral Homes, Boise, Idaho, is handling arrangements.

Edward Sylvester Gacek
Edward Sylvester Gacek, 77, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 15, 1921, in New Jersey. A resident for 11 years, he was a clerk at the U.S. Post Office and a retired Navy chief petty officer.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; one son, John Gacek of Kansas; one daughter, Eva Jane Elllis of Indiana; four grandchildren and three grandchildren.

William 'Mr. Bill' Hook Sr.
William "Mr. Bill" Hook Sr., 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Homestead, Pa. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired painter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; one daughter, Janet Bowling of Las Vegas; four sons, William Hook Jr. of Denver, Marty Hook of Redding, Calif., and Barry Hook and Daniel E. Hook, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were 11:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ramona Howard
Ramona Howard, 47, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 25, 1951, in Houston. A lifelong resident, she was a hospital nurses aide.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; one son, Shane Howard, one daughter, Tara Collins, and her mother, Janet Garry, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Donna Simon of Spokane, Wash., and Coleen Humble of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Robert N. Johnson
Robert N. Johnson, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A self-employed auto body man and World War II Army veteran, he was born May 15, 1926, in Woodville, Wis.
He is survived by four sons, Robert C. Johnson, Neil S. Johnson, Christopher L. Johnson and Joseph A. Johnson; one daughter, Holly Floyd; one brother, Roy Johnson; one sister, Averiel Wazlawik; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Aug. 5 in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Carol Kassel, 65, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born May 31, 1934, in Provo, Utah. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired accountant for a lumber company.
She is survived by her husband, William J.; one son, Kevin W. Kassel of Provo; one daughter, Kim Statler, and two sisters, Terri Press and Tracy Hall, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Craig Smith of Provo; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Palomino Estates LDS Ward, 3350 W. Alexander Road. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens.

Rita Ann Martinez Macias, 32, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born June 21, 1967, in California. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her parents, Virginia and Don Navarrette of Tulare, Calif.; and two brothers, Donnie Navarrette of California and Anthony Navarrette of New York.

Charles M. Niedrich
Charles M. Niedrich, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born June 13, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired baker, World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by five daughters, Patricia Martin, Christy Zavala and Dolorise Niedrich, all of Las Vegas and Dona Harris and Carol Niedrich, both of Chicago; one sister, Doris Slotkin of Las Vegas; two brothers, Raymond Niedrich of Las Vegas and James Niedrich of Los Angeles; one son, Charles Niedrich, and his companion, Idalyn Scott, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Ron Petersen of Yuba City, Calif., and Marilyn Bryan of Las Vegas; one sister, Alice Scholan of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters, Marilyn Burger of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Lisa Marie Bryant of Las Vegas; one son, Carl Tady of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, James Tady of Omaha, Neb., and Charles Tady of Yucca Valley, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Floyd Wilson of Las Vegas and Roy Wilson of Louisiana; one brother, James Henry Black of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Arthur Bryant Tennell of Las Vegas and Edward Raymond Tennell of Streamwood, Ill.; one brother, Raymond Tennell of Florida; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Florence K. Van Vorst, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born April 26, 1917, in Chicago. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired Clark County government supervisor, a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by one son, John Cizek of San Dimas, Calif.; and one brother, Frank Kucera of Lyons, Ill.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 Maryland Parkway. Burial will be private.

A resident for 14 years, he was a retired health physicist for the federal government at McDonald Douglas, Sperry Rand, Westinghouse, Tennessee Valley Authority and the Department of Energy.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia J.; one daughter, Elizabeth Reichel of Glendale, Ariz.; his mother, Lillie Wiggins, and one brother, Richard Wiggins, both of Harrisburg, Ill.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
