The pursuit began around 10:30 p.m. Monday when an officer noticed Alfred Gomes in a vehicle outside the Pony Express Lodge on Prater Way.
Police said Gomes, 50, is wanted on a parole violation in California. He refused to surrender and rammed the officer's patrol car with his vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said.
A chase ensued, and at times reached speeds estimated at 100 mph, police said.
Gomes was arrested about 16 minutes later after crashing his car through a fence at a home on Susilene Drive in Reno. He then fled on foot but was quickly chased down by officers, police said.
Sparks police said the California warrant stems from a parole violation on an original charge of attempted murder.
Gomes was booked into the Washoe County Jail on charges of felony eluding and battery with a deadly weapon on an officer.
