Brochures answer legal questions

Brochures that answer common legal questions often posed by the public are now available through the State Bar of Nevada, which produced the material as a public service.

There are 13 brochures covering such issues as divorce, probate, providing for your pets as well as driving under the influence.

Individual brochures may be obtained from the State Bar of Nevada located at 600 E. Charleston Blvd. or by calling 382-2200.

Law firms or organizations may purchase brochures in sets of 50 for $12.50 per set.

Subjects in the brochures include:

* Bankruptcy.

* Clients' security fund, which is money that may be available to clients whose trust has been betrayed by an attorney.

* Divorce.

* DUI.

* Fee dispute arbitration.

* Filing a homestead declaration.

* How lawyers charge.

* Lawyer discipline.

* Lawyer referral and information center.

* Power of attorney forms.

* Probate and administration estates.

* Providing for your pets.

* Real estate escrows and title insurance.

Las Vegas attorney Ann Bersi, president of the Bar's Board of Governors, said the public service material is a key part of the State Bar of Nevada's mission of "making the law work for everyone."

The State Bar of Nevada is the professional association for all attorneys licensed to practic law in Nevada.
