DENVER -- Titanium Metals Corp., which has a big plant in Henderson near Las Vegas, said it lost $300,000 or 8 cents per share in the second quarter vs. a profit of $16 million or 44 cents in the year-ago quarter.
Sales fell from $191 million to $128 million as demand declined from aerospace and industrial markets.
"As expected, we reported a net loss in the second quarter. We are focusing on improving our margins through cost reductions," said Chairman and Chief Executive J. Landis Martin.
