Grants to aid airports

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $10,015,827 in federal grants for airport improvement and expansion projects in Nevada.
The funding will cover:
McCarran International Airport -- $4 million to acquire land for noise compatibility and mitigation and $1,879,201 to improve the apron surrounding Concourses A and B to meet capacity demands.
City of Henderson -- $108,545 to construct phase one of a runway at Sky Harbor Airport, improve operational safety.
Clark County -- $1,986,099 to acquire land for development and provide for capacity needs at the North Las Vegas Air Terminal.
City of Elko -- $149,179 to construct an apron, taxiways and terminal building, install security fencing, improve airfield drainage and improve an access road.
Airport Authority of Washoe County -- $1,563,394 to construct and realign taxiways D and A and install lighting and improve operational safety.
