Fishing report — Las Vegas area — July 22, 1999
Thursday, July 22, 1999 | 9:54 a.m.
LAKE MEAD: Boaters are continuing to find fair to good success for striped bass in Las Vegas Bay while shore anglers are having little success as the fish are beyond their casting distance.
Casting lures to feeding stripers is taking small fish from the lake's surface while trollers are finding bigger fish in deeper water. Fishing at night with anchovies has been taking stripers as well.
Very little action is being found at Government Wash and Callville Bay. Boaters fishing out from Stewart's Point in the Overton Arm have had some luck for stripers. The fishing has slowed in Iceberg Canyon and Grand Wash.
LAKE MOHAVE: Small striped bass are being caught by boaters from Owl's Point to the 31-mile marker. Trolling with anchovies is catching fish that range from 12 to 17 inches.
