Crime in North Las Vegas has decreased significantly over the past four years. The following violent-crime categories show the annual number of incidences and the rates per 1,000 in population for 1994 and 1998.
Homicide: 1994 -- 22, .3; 1998 -- 16, .1
Rape: 1994 -- 64, .9; 1998 -- 42, .3
Robbery: 1994 -- 449, 6.4; 1998 -- 400, 3.7
Aggravated assault: 1994 -- 1,147, 16.5; 1998 -- 783, 7.3
