Las Vegas Motor Speedway owner Bruton Smith's Sonic Automotive Inc. of Charlotte, N.C., today announced it's buying Integrity Dodge of Las Vegas and nine other dealers around the nation.
The dealerships have estimated 1999 revenues of about $285 million.
The company said it's looking for additional Las Vegas acquisitions. It calls Las Vegas the second-fastest growing market in the United States.
"We are continuing to selectively enter new markets with attractive demographics for automobile retailing," Smith, Sonic's chairman and CEO, said.
Tom Saitta, owner of the 110-employee Integrity Dodge operation in Las Vegas, said he was told Integrity was the first dealership to be approached by Sonic west of the Mississippi.
