Reno airport pushes to offset Sparks demands

Sparks City Council voted unanimously on Monday to request the impact statement after a lengthy hearing on the issue.
That was a setback to the airport, which has pushed to get the facility up and running.
The airport countered on Tuesday with release of a public opinion survey conducted by a California firm.
It shows that 77 percent of the people surveyed in the Truckee Meadows, Carson City, Alpine County and other areas support the postal center.
Perhaps more meaningfully, the facility still has 66 percent support in the ZIP code most central to the airport flight plan.
The poll was commissioned by the airport's public relations firm, R&R Advertising. The airport paid for it.
