Harrah’s calls slot tourney world’s largest

Harrah's Entertainment Inc. said its annual Millionaire Maker National Championship of Slots will take place at 13 locations this year, making it the largest slot machine tournament in the world.
The Millionaire Maker tournament will begin July 23 in Reno, and be in Las Vegas from Sept. 16 to Sept. 21. The tournament will be in Laughlin Sept. 26 to Sept. 28.
Other locations include Kansas City, Lake Tahoe, East Chicago, Tunica, Miss.; Atlantic City, Shreveport, La.; St. Louis, Vicksburg, Miss.; Joliet, Ill. and New Orleans. The championship will be held in New Orleans Nov. 7 to Nov. 9, with a top prize of $1 million.
The tournament is entering its fifth year. It averages more than 3,200 participants annually.
