Letter: Republican spouts all of the typical party-line phrases

Well, here we go, yet another Republican coming out of the "woodwork" with his typical Republican nonsense. In R. Lambert's letter of July 8 he says things that we "liberals" have heard for decades. That if it weren't for the "rich" (protected by the government laws) we poor just could not exist.
But Mr. Rich People, how could you amass such fortunes if it weren't on the backs of labor. How about that, Mr. Rich, how much? If it weren't for labor, the rich would be in a mess.
Take, for instance, sports arenas. Without players, how could they fill their huge, expensive stadiums? They want it all and continually fight them at contract time. Oh sure, it takes both sides to make it work. All labor wants is to make a decent living. Professional players must make a share of their huge profits.
Also, don't buy the owners' constant crying about their losing money yearly. Check it out when franchises are sold and the millions that are made at that time. Yes sir, Mr. Rich, how much of their millions was made because of the players' ability to fill the stands.
Corporations: How does any CEO deserve the $30 million to $40 million-plus a year they receive? And when contract time comes, they cry that they can't afford any increases. Come on.
You see, Mr. Lambert, it is a two-way street. Also, don't believe that your kind reinvest through their kindness. It's to fill their pockets. Anyone can see this.
Have your fun now, Mr. Republican, because on Election Day 2000 you're out of here.
