Letter: Thank Titus for focusing on growth
Sunday, July 18, 1999 | 11:15 a.m.
Although Titus' bill did not become law, she was able to focus attention on the challenges of growth, and she began an effort to better manage growth. That effort continues today. A number of growth management bills, including several by Titus, were passed during this past legislative session; growth was a major issue in the recent mayoral campaign; and smart growth management has become a national issue.
As a resident who lives in one of our valley's outlying areas, I see the problems and challenges of unbridled growth every day; to me, it's not just an issue, it's a reality. I want to thank Titus for getting the ball rolling and to congratulate all who are continuing to work on this issue that is so critical to all of us, now and for the future.
