Letter: Commandments part of culture

I have so much to say to dispute this fact, however I think I should let those he named speak for themselves:
* "Without the intervention of God there never would have been a Constitution." -- James Madison.
* "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people." -- John Adams.
* "If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?" -- Ben Franklin.
* "The moral principles and precepts contained in the scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws." -- Noah Webster.
* "All the good from the savior of the world is communicated through this Book; but for the Book we could not know right from wrong." -- Abe Lincoln.
You see, Mr. Krieg, Christian faith is the foundation of America. You may not want the Ten Commandments hung in public places like our schools, but our forefathers knew the importance of the public display of the Ten Commandments and inscribed them in stone over the head of the chief justice at the U.S. Supreme Court.
