Letter: Books, movies insult intelligence
Friday, July 16, 1999 | 9:41 a.m.
I stopped reading U.S.A. authors as I feel that they could express themselves in good English and not offend my intelligence with ugliness.
Amongst my friends and acquaintances I don't know anyone who uses such awful language as I've seen in modern books and films. I shut them out.
The books written today will never become classics.
