The Greenspun family, owner of the Las Vegas Sun, has invested in VegasGolfer magazine and several professional golf tournament programs and guides.
Terms of the deal were not announced. VegasGolfer Communications Inc. founders Greg Frey and Brian Hurlburt and Greenspun Corp. President Brian Greenspun formed VegasGolfer LLC. Greenspun is managing member with a 51 percent stake in the company while Frey and Hurlburt share 49 percent.
VegasGolfer, published six times a year with at least 60,000 copies printed and distributed each edition, is the flagship publication and features columns by Senior Tour professional Jim Colbert and popular golf writer Jack Sheehan.
The company also produces the official programs for three professional golf events, the Las Vegas Senior Classic, the Las Vegas Invitational and the Wendy's Three-Tour Challenge.
VegasGolfer also maintains a World Wide Web site -- vegasgolfer.com -- and produces the "Guidebook to Golfing Las Vegas" in partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Frey and Hurlburt, who have worked with golf publications dedicated to Southern Nevada since April 1994, will continue as marketing and sales director; and editor; respectively.
