Letter: Liberals bypassing key amendment in gun debate
Monday, July 12, 1999 | 9:48 a.m.
President Clinton, in a rare truthful statement, said that he approves of incremental gun control and that he understands why gun advocates fear "the camel's nose under the tent."
Any truthful liberals will tell you that they want total gun control despite the intent of the Second Amendment. Gun advocates do not fear "the camel's nose under the tent" but do fear "the donkey's nose under the tent" because donkeys are stubborn and, like liberals, do not understand the Second Amendment.
It reads: "a well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state" and "the right of the people to keep and bear arms," shall not be infringed.
