Bush, GOP’s cash machine, likely headed to Nevada soon

"We're looking for a time in September," says Gov. Kenny Guinn, who will be the general chairman of the Bush campaign in Nevada. But he adds nothing's set in stone.
He said there may be fund-raisers in Las Vegas or Lake Tahoe, or perhaps both sites, which would help plump up the coffers of the man who already has reported raising an unprecedented $36 million.
Guinn was one of six Western governors who joined in last week's endorsement of Bush at an event in Utah.
The Nevada governor joined Republican governors from Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana in a public rally and endorsement in Salt Lake City.
Guinn had endorsed Bush in November after his own election and said he is optimistic the Texas governor will take a position on nuclear waste storage that Nevadans will be comfortable with.
Guinn is also comfortable with Bush's gambling position. Although Bush has opposed gaming in Texas, Guinn said the Texas governor believes gamblers should go to places like Las Vegas to gamble.
Bush also asked the Western governors for information about mining and grazing, two other key issues in the West.
